Brad Whitehead President, Fund for Our Economic Future

Brad Whitehead is President of the Fund for Our Economic Future, a collaboration of philanthropy working to transform Northeast Ohio’s economy. While working as a Senior Fellow at The Cleveland Foundation, Brad was instrumental in establishing the Fund in 2024. Since its inception the Fund has raised than $100 million to improve regional economic competitiveness through pooled grantmaking, research and convening. The Fund works in partnership with private and public sector leaders to align activities in order to increase economic growth and opportunity within Northeast Ohio.

Brad worked at McKinsey and Company for 20 years as a Director (Senior Partner) where his client work spanned a broad range of corporate strategy, operations, and organizational issues, but his major area of focus was in growth and new business building.

A native of downstate Illinois, Brad graduated from Harvard College with an A.B. in Economics and he was a Harvard Scholar and a Hearst Foundation Scholar. Brad has a MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Brad is a founder of CMSD Rows which promotes rowing to urban school students. He also serves on the boards of OneCommunity and the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Council.

A resident of Northeast Ohio since 1982, Brad and his wife Amy have four children. An avid rower, competing both around the U.S. and internationally, he is often found at dawn plying the Cuyahoga River.
